WHEN the World No 1 eventer for 2002 sets out to provide a guide for anyone planning to tackle a one-day event for the first time, or is competing at a higher level, then you know the advice comes straight from the horse's mouth.
William Fox-Pitt takes you from flat work to show jumping to cross-country.
He works with a shrewd appreciation of what it takes to turn a novice into a skilled and fearless eventer, but the real bonus of this book is the stunning montage sequences of pictures. They show exactly how he completes dressage movements, approaches jumps, lands and gets away from a variety of fences.
If he doesn't put you into the picture on eventing, then I don't know who can.
