THE first thing that will strike you about this album is that frontman Jamie Hartman sounds just like a young Rod Stewart.
However, that's where the similarity ends because the band's style is more Coldplay than rock and roll.
This is not necessarily a bad thing, as many of the tracks use simple piano lines and strings to show off Hartman's voice to the full and their second single Let Me Out was selected for the Radio 2 playlist before it was even released.
Other stand-out tracks include the sublime I Am Who I Am and Bad Dream, which was written after Hartman found out his mother had been in a serious car accident.
Although some of the tracks are a little run-of-the-mill, bearing in mind this band has been together for just eight months, it's a pretty decent first offering.
Cutting-edge is not a word which could be used to describe this album, but the quality of the band shines through and they are sure to be a hit with fans of more sedate music.
