A MEMBER of a nationally acclaimed band will give a one-off charity performance to help a village hall.
Beccy Mills, from Waking the Witch, is hoping to raise money for the village hall in Newton-on-Rawcliffe, near Pickering, North Yorkshire. The band played a successful gig there last month.
Fundraising for a major renovation of the village hall began in January and has raised more than £11,000 towards its target of £20,000.
Miss Mills was brought up in the village, and her parents and grandmother still live there.
She was a solo singer and songwriter before she formed Waking the Witch with three other girls.
The group play acoustic indie music and have appeared at numerous UK festivals, including Glastonbury. They all sing, write and play acoustic guitar.
She will perform in the hall on Friday, August 24. Tickets are £8, on 01751-477012.
