THE cream of the North-East's young music talent is to play at the region's most recognisable venue next month.
Local bands including Tyneside rockers Kubichek! and Newcastle's The Toy Guns play at The Sage Gateshead on September 22.
The Bandstand 07 concert raises funds in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust - a charity set up by The Who lead singer Roger Daltrey.
Kubichek! are enjoying chart success with their debut album Not Enough Night.
The group's singles, including Nightjoy, Stutter and Outwards have received regular airplay on national radio and all made it in the indie top 40.
The Toy Guns are a ska-punk act featuring two Geordies, an Italian and a Finn. The group won praise from Radio DJ Zane Lowe for their recent single Shoot The Boy.
Tickets for the September 22 concert in Hall 2 at The Sage Gateshead cost £12 and are available from the box office on 0191-443-4661.
On the same night Roger Daltry and comedian Vic Reeves head the bill for the second half of Bandstand 07 in Hall 2. Tickets cost £60.
