OK Go - Hungry Ghosts
IT'S been four years since Grammy-winning Chicago alternative-rockers OK Go released their last album Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky in 2010. Damian Kulash, Tim Nordwind, Dan Konopka and Andy Ross' fourth album Hungry Ghosts has therefore been highly anticipated, and it sees the foursome adopt a far more electronic sound than ever before. First single The Writing's On The Wall demonstrates their new, very cool, relaxed, electro sound to perfection; it wouldn't seem out of place on the Made In Chelsea soundtrack. In contrast, Upside Down & Inside Out and Obsession are reminiscent of the punchy, fun sound that made Get Over It such a monster hit back in 2003, while I Won't Let You Down is a chirpy 1980's disco-like number. Overall, this is a very enjoyable happy-go-lucky album, and the group should be commended for experimenting so boldly with their sound. It's certainly good to have them back.
