THIS action-packed book is for the adventurous only! It's set when James Bond is still a youth, not yet an MI6 agent, but is already having unbelievable adventures.
In this latest in the series of Young Bond novels, the hero and some school friends are on an amazing journey to Los Angeles in an airship.
They soon find themselves caught up in a complicated plot of blackmail, murder and revenge and in possession of a gruesome film reel for which a mad, film-obsessed gangster will kill.
This book can sometimes be unrealistic, but I guess that can be expected from a James Bond adventure! I really liked the plot, with all its twists and turns and the writing is fast-paced.
The characters in this book are vivid, imaginative and also surprising - it's not always obvious who's a goody and who's a baddie.
Children aged nine to 12 will particularly enjoy this read - though be warned, just like the adult books, it does contain some gory moments.
8/10
