THERE'S a fire down below and Jimmy King asks Bob Hope to put it out in Emmerdale (ITV1). That explains why Jimmy is holding out his trousers (he's still wearing them) so that Bob can peer down at his lower regions and inspect the damage to his undercarriage.
This is not something recommended that you do in public. People may well get the wrong impression and call the police or, in extreme circumstances, thrust their hand down aforementioned item of clothing and cop a feel for themselves.
This isn't some ancient farming custom or a sign that Jimmy and/or Bob is a bit of a pervert. Jimmy's worried that all is not well with his vasectomy reversal and wants confirmation. His private part is feeling tender and he knows no-one wants to love him tender.
Why, you might reasonably ask, has Jimmy's had a reversal? Blame wife Nicola who made him have the snip because she didn't want any more children. Now she's changed her mind after Jimmy's sperm bank donation was used to father a child without his knowledge.
There's a moving moment when student Kirin decides he's had enough of his father's strict house rules and leaves home. He moves in with his older woman lover Vanessa the vet. She, however, isn't so sure this is a good idea. Someone else is getting their marching orders - Charity. Moira's not feeling very charitable after learning Charity and Rotten Rob have been handling stolen cars. Get out, she says in no uncertain terms.
Steve is not feeling himself. Or anyone else for the matter. He's depressed and his behaviour is worrying mum Liz who frets about the effect it will have on his young daughter in Coronation Street (ITV1). All he's worried about is his new car and pays over the odds to have it fixed.
Michael and Gavin do some father and son bonding on a fishing trip although Michael's lady friend Gail the hamster warns Michael that he must tell his son about his heart condition. Michael's not quick enough - he collapses before having the heart-to-heart with his son.
Terrible Tracy is being... well, terrible in the aftermath of fiancé Rotten Rob being declared a killer. If there's one thing guaranteed to ruin a relationship it's discovering your boyfriend is a murderer.
Now Tracy is sorting through his things with the idea of selling to raise cash. She needs money fast after the bank rules out giving her a loan. It could mean the end of her business but not, I suspect, her dirty business. She blames Carla for shopping her brother Rob to the police and ruining her wedding. It looks like war between the two women.
Poor Denise in EastEnders (BBC1). Looking after sick Patrick is taking its toll on her. Then she goes digging around, only to find a piece of evidence that has a bearing on Lucy's murder.
It happens after Patrick gets a warning for the council to tidy up his allotment or lose it. He's hardly in a fit state to go weeding so Denise does it for him and makes a startling discovery. She digs up dead Lucy's mobile phone, which is marginally less gruesome than digging up dead Lucy.
Jay sees what happens and goes running to Ben. They need to cover their tracks but isn't too late? Is their secret out?
