Mainly featured on bass clarinet, Etkin also plays clarinet and tenor on this fine mix of new and traditional music. With core backing by Ben Allison and Nasheet Waits, and occasional support from trombonist Curtis Fowlkes and guitarist Lionel Loueke, Etkin incorporates blues and folk from across the world very much in the spirit of his mentor Yusef Lateef.
