Rock Ridge Roundup Country Music Festival
THE North-East has always had a proud tradition of catering for country music appreciators with live music festivals featuring the best of British bands and artists. From the early days of the ALMA Gypsy’s Green Festival at South Shields through the long running Great North C&W Country Festival held at Witton Castle and latterly at Barnard Castle.
The festival takes place in a couple of weeks time at Burdon Plain off the A6076 between Stanley and Sunniside, Gateshead, from Friday, July 25 to Monday, July 28.
The event is staged in a large marquee with a bar and festival attendees are welcome to take part in free line dance instruction each morning. The site is open from 10am on Friday and has ample space for camping whether in a tent, caravan, trailer or motor home.
On Thursday July 24, a pre-fest get together and party night is being held at an admission cost of £5 per camping unit which is payable on arrival. Ticket price for the four days with free camping is £60, however single day passes and other options are available. More information on rockridgeevents.co.uk or 01207 529233.
