Lady Gaga...

is bringing her artRAVE;The ARTPOP Ball to Newcastle. Love her or hate her, you cannot fail to know who Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is? Her pop moniker was adopted, it’s claimed, from Queen’s hit single, Radio Ga Ga. She’s won five Grammy Awards, sold an estimated 27 million albums, and grossed more than $300m in revenue from ticket sales from her first three worldwide concert tours.

She is a specialist at creating her own image (remember “that dress”, made of raw beef which she wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards?) and knows how to get attention. Whether what she does is style, art or showing off, you can’t deny her ability to produce stunning visuals and cunningly commercial music.

The staging for her tour has been designed to bring her closer to her fans. Runways made of translucent material will reach out into the audience from the main stage connecting to several smaller stages.

Fans will be able to walk and dance under the runways.

The Pet Shop Boys...

will play a special show at Sage Gateshead as part of their spectacular 2014 Electric Tour on September 2.

The show will feature PSB classics and new tracks from Electric, the first Pet Shop Boys album to be produced by Stuart Price, the man behind Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor and clubsmashing remixes for The Killers, as well as his own Les Rhthymes Digitales project.

One half of the duo, Neil Tennant, who grew up in Newcastle, commented: “It always feels special to come home and perform a show and the Sage has established itself in the last ten years as one of Europe’s very best venues for all genres of music.”

Expect the very best of PSB as well as spectacular interactive lighting and set design, created in collaboration with award-winning creative director and designer Es Devlin, who has worked with Lady Gaga, Kanye West & Jay Z, Take That and the 2012 Olympics’ Closing Ceremony.
