Jerrod Niemann - High Noon
THIS is the third album from Jerrod Niemann since he was signed by Arista in 2010. He said: “On my first two albums, I tried to cover all the music I enjoy, this time we mashed it all together and that’s what you do when you’re really attempting to create your own sound. As it all gelled, I think it brought us into our own pure sound for the first time.”
His words are perhaps a realisation presenting an eclectic mix of songs that indicates an artist trying to create a new contemporary country sound that isn’t a run of the mill offering.
The discerning ear will note a mix of pop, country, electronic rock that weaves through a wide emotional spectrum.
He has already charted with his debut single from the album entitled Drink To That All Night reaching number four in the US Country Charts and number one in the Country Radio Airplay Charts.
As country music is constantly moving its goalposts Jerrod Niemann has put on his goalkeeper gloves with this offering perhaps paving the way for an extra dimension of ‘country’ sounding offerings.
For a preview listen, join me on the American Connection Music Show from Saturday on euvue.co.uk/ as I’ll be featuring three tracks in the album of the week slot.
