RELEASED to coincide with his Country to Country appearance last Sunday at London’s 02 Arena, Wheelhouse is the latest offering from Brad Paisley, one of Nashville’s country superstars.
Sony music have released a special limited edition version, along with a 14- track bonus CD featuring some of his biggest hits, including Mud On The Tyres and Whiskey Lullaby with Alison Krauss, and Online, Celebrity and When I Get Where I’m Going with Dolly Parton.
His road/stage band features on the album, instead of studio session musicians, plus it was recorded in his studio and he also produced it.
Apparently, part of the challenge of Wheelhouse was to embrace the humanity of the musicians by recording the tracks without technology being overused to remove any imperfections.
Paisley says: “We didn’t fix much on this whole album. When you hear the band, it’s essentially them playing the best they can.”
The album is a treat for both the listener and the musician as he weaves his way through an eclectic mix of songs and brilliant guitar “shredding”.
- In a personal footnote I’d like to thank all those listeners who have tuned in to country radio shows I’ve presented and produced during the past 34 years. You can still join me on americanconnection.euvue.co.uk.
