IT’S A shame when great bands from the 1970s and 1980s don’t know when to call it a day. Ann and Nancy Wilson – the sisters at the heart of Heart, the American hard rock band who brought us Alone and Crazy On You – are a refreshing antithesis to this trend. They, remarkably, are as good as ever, and have released this live recording from the last night of their 2012 tour to prove it.
From bombastic opener and album track Fanatic onwards, this serves as both a celebratory walk through the band’s expansive back catalogue (including Dog And Butterfly, Barracuda and the aforementioned anthems) and an impressive display of its live credentials.
When it comes to putting on an exciting show, Heart really gets the blood pumping.
