SCHOOLBOY Oliver Blake will take to the stage of Newcastle Theatre Royal tonight in the touring production of the musical Evita.
Ten-year-old Oliver, from Sunderland, who sings with the Chorister School Galilee Choir, in Durham Cathedral, will join the choir in the show for the week-long run alongside Wet Wet Wet singer Marti Pellow.
“I can’t wait to perform at the Theatre Royal. It is such a fantastic venue and I’ve seen some amazing shows there,”
says Oliver.
“Singing is a massive part of my life and I spend pretty much all of my spare time singing, dancing and acting.”
Angela Salkeld, principal of Stagecoach Newcastle, says: “He is a very talented student and you can see that he lives and breathes the performing arts.
“Everyone at the school is looking forward to taking a trip to see him perform.”
