REVEREND And The Makers are back with their fourth studio album and if you enjoy the electropop chorus-led catchy anthems that have come to define the Sheffield band, then you will be happy with this effort, which is packed with upbeat stompers.
The tub-thumping Detonator sets the tone perfectly, The Devil’s Radio could easily be Madness on speed, while the aptly named Nostalgia sounds like an unwitting tribute to Men At Work’s Land Down Under. There are more poignant moments, with Happy Song and Play Me timely reminders of Jon McClure’s prowess as a songwriter, but the album is encapsulated in the rousing The Only One.
