THOSE with an ear for the likes of the Deftones should find an instant liking for Darlington outfit Kickshaws.
Whilst the vocals are softer and more accessible, the construction of the songs on this six-track offering leans does owe something to the Sacramento alternative rockers.
I'd also say there's are elements of the likes of VersaEmerge present, but before I am accused of doing them a disservice, these influences are nothing more than mere inspiration.
Combine the accomplished guitar work and intelligent lyrics with a good level of production and it's little wonder they made it to the final eight of the Kerrang Unsigned competition last summer.
