A SERIES of meetings to help farmers comply with new Nitrate Vulnerable Zone regulations are being held.
The Environment Agency is beginning cross-compliance inspections and has organised the meetings with the North Yorkshire Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG).
The meetings will be a chance to explain the main requirements of the legislation and a series of workshops will help farmers fill in important paperwork, which will be checked by agency officers on the day.
Meetings will be at The Deanery, Ripon, on Wednesday, June 10; The Black Bull, Northallerton, on Thursday, June 11; and Green Hammerton Social Club, near York, on Wednesday, June 24. All meetings are from 7pm to 9pm.
The practical workshops are at Northallerton, on Monday, June 15, and The Deanery, Ripon, on Tuesday, June 16, both between 10am and 3pm, with lunch provided.
The other is at Green Hammerton Social Club on Tuesday, June 30, between 10am and 1pm.
