A TWO-DAY auction of more than 1,000 acres of agricultural land includes 350 acres at Shildon, County Durham.
Smiths Gore is auctioning 1,125 acres of farmland and woodland in the Midlands and North on behalf of UK Coal Mining.
The lots in Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, County Durham and Northumberland are divided into three sales, to be held on May 27 and 28. The Durham and Northumberland land will be auctioned on May 28 at 6.30pm.
The 350 acres at Shildon will be sold in eight lots ranging from nine acres to 113 acres and is a mix of arable, grass and woodland.
Another lot of 102 acres of grass, arable and woodland is at Eldon, near Bishop Auckland; 82 acres in two lots at Hetton-le-Hill; and eight lots extending to 350 acres at Prudhoe, Northumberland.
Simon Bainbridge, from Smiths Gore’s Darlington office, said: “With the land market suffering from a lack of supply this year, we are confident that offering some significant parcels of farmland by public auction will prove to be popular with buyers.”
