AN IT services provider is looking to increase its market presence after a law firm’s support helped it secure £350,000 investment.
Atlas Cloud, in Newcastle, has agreed an investment deal with Northstar Ventures and private investors.
The company was advised by commercial law firm Watson Burton, which has offices in Newcastle.
Founded in 2010, the firm designs, builds and manages software allowing businesses to access systems remotely.
Pete Watson, Atlas Cloud’s chief executive, said: “The way in which businesses use IT is constantly evolving and will be very different in the years to come.
“Servers and PCs will become redundant and all IT requirements will be delivered over the internet, so there will no longer be slow computers or broken servers.
“We provide a complete cloud service, managed and operated on our clients’ behalf allowing businesses to concentrate on what they exist to do.”
Mr Watson added the investment will help the company continue its growth both in the North-East and nationally.
Paul Wigham, Watson Burton’s corporate finance expert, acted for Atlas to secure the investment.
He said: “It was a pleasure to work alongside Pete and the team.
“Atlas is an innovative organisation with a clear vision for growth.”
Northstar Ventures’ funds are backed by the European Regional Development Fund and the European Investment Bank.
