Personal injury law firm Irwin Mitchell has appointed LISA PITTS from Sunderland as specialist public law and human rights solicitor.
She joins the Newcastle firm from London solicitors Fisher Meredith and will be working with renowned lawyer Yogi Amin, who successfully fought for the right of Mary McElroy, from Ponteland, to receive the breast cancer drug Herceptin from Northumberland Primary Care Trust.
Ms Pitts, an Oxford graduate, will act for individuals advising them how to obtain community and healthcare support from local authorities, social services and the NHS.
She originally trained at Irwin Mitchell and did her law course at Northumbria University.
