THE Newcastle Office of business agents, Christie + Co, has sold the Plough Inn, Mounsett, Burnopfield, and the Board Inn, Portabello, Birtley.
Both have been bought by the same buyer, a well-know North-East pub and restaurant operator and property developer. The seller was one of Christie + Co’s national corporate clients.
Mark Worley, who handled the sales, said: “In a time when public houses are frequently being sold for conversion to other uses, it is pleasing that both of these pubs have been purchased by the same buyer and he intends to invest heavily in each of them and continue both as public houses.
“This shows that, with the right investment and management, there is still a very healthy future for licensed premises.”
