Any businesses looking to take advantage of business opportunities associated with the 2012 Games must be registered on CompeteFor and have a fully published business profile.
This online ‘dating service’ for businesses provides access to thousands of potential tendering opportunities and is the first step for any company that wishes to compete for Olympic contracts.
Companies are also advised to take time to complete the marketing section when building a Compete For business profile. This is a fantastic window in which to showcase a business to thousands of buyers and suppliers.
As a minimum requirement businesses will need to have the following policies in place to tender for Olympic success: Health and Safety Policy, Equality and Diversity Policy and a Quality Statement. Companies can contact the Compete North East team to ensure their policies are correctly in place.
Businesses will also need to demonstrate that they are financially secure and should be able to provide in-depth financial information if requested.
Those tendering will need to demonstrate that they have the capacity or the ability to collaborate with other businesses and organisations to deliver a particular product or service on time and within budget. The Compete North East team is here to make sure every North East business that wants to benefit from the 2012 Games is tender ready.
