NORTH-EAST companies looking to cut costs by consolidating their regional operations into one single site are showing interest in Admiral Point, the only new industrial development currently in construction.
According to Nick Atkinson of DTZ, appointed letting agent for Jomast’s 35,000sq ft commercial scheme at Spectrum Business Park, companies serious about reducing overheads and overall running costs are now considering central locations like Dawdon, County Durham.
“Companies looking at streamlining their operations and creating one or two larger sites rather than local depots throughout the region can do no better than Admiral Point,” he said. “It is an ideal location for businesses serving the north and south of the region and its proximity to major transport links such as the A19 and port of Seaham is of huge benefit.
“This is certainly an option for many companies in the current climate, and with Phase Two launching very soon, occupiers can acquire modern, high-specification commercial premises at very competitive rates.”
Developer Jomast has already attracted large organisations including Orbis plc, Kidde Products, Transmark fcx, Tradesport and Access Rentals to Phase One of the development.
Phase Two includes units ranging from 3,700sq ft to 15,000sq ft with the benefit of clear portal frames and an eaves height up to 7.65m. All are available to lease as single or multiple units.
Mark Hill, commercial property manager of Jomast, added: “Phase Two is an ideal location for companies looking to consolidate, grow or relocate.
“The development can accommodate everything from small ownermanaged businesses to large manufacturers so we are confident of attracting high profile organisations to the area.”
