LANDOWNERS are to be shown how they can create habitats for breeding wading birds.
The Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in North Yorkshire and the RSPB have teamed up to organise a one-off event demonstrating ways of encouraging the birds.
It will take place on Tuesday, November 10, in Greenhow, at 10am or 1.30pm – the exact location will be revealed to people who wish to attend when they call 01423- 712950.
Colin Slator, AONB ranger, said: “The event is a great opportunity for landowners to find out how they can take small practical steps which will help protect some of our favourite birds.
“There will be practical demonstrations by local contractors on creating suitable conditions for wading birds, and there will also be an opportunity for farmers and landowners to find out more about the financial support they can get though Natural England’s Stewardship Grant Schemes.
“I would urge any landowners who are interested to come along and join us.”
