A SIGN company’s recycling efforts will help disadvantaged youngsters in the region.
Astley Signs, based on the Team Valley, Gateshead, was awarded a £100 donation to Cash for Kids because of its unblemished recycling record, which resulted in the company scoring a 100 per cent clean-sheet in a recycling audit.
David Forrester, sales director at Astley Signs said: “It is part of the group’s business strategy to anticipate and understand the balance between operations and the environment, believing that every company has a duty to provide appropriate arrangements for the disposal of their waste.”
Since starting the recycling scheme with the assistance of County Durham-based Premier Waste Management and Robert Horne, Astley Signs has recycled more than 75 tons of plastics, foams and composite materials, metals, cardboard and paper.
