ACCOUNTANTS Chipchase Manners has appointed a new partner.
Tax partner Graeme Boagey said the elevation of 32-year-old Martin Firth was a long-term appointment designed to ensure Chipchase Manners, based in Middlesbrough, remains an independent practice.
He said: “We recruited Martin four years ago as a manager and, since then, he has had a growing influence on the business, specifically in relation to audits carried out on behalf of larger clients.”
Mr Firth studied at Yarm School, near Stockton, and Nottingham University and completed his accountancy training at Hartlepool firm Horwath Clark Whitehill, before joining Chipchase Manners in 2005.
Mr Firth said: “In general practice, you build up a widely varied portfolio of clients, who each day provide you with fresh and different challenges.
“I enjoy and appreciate the support I get from the partners and the excellent staff at Chipchase Manners.”
In light of Mr Firth’s promotion, the firm plans to appoint a trainee chartered accountant in early summer.
