Christie Finance, the independent business mortgage brokerage, has assisted Christine and Janine Colvin in acquiring their first public house, The Earl Derby Inn, in the picturesque village of Stanley in Crook, County Durham.
The Earl Derby Inn is popular with local residents and tourists alike, especially in the summer.
The Colvins, who do not come from either a pub or restaurant background, believe there is a wealth of potential to improve the food side of the business.
Located in a semi-rural area with superb views to the rear, the Earl Derby Inn is a two-storey detached property comprising a main bar with games area, 28-cover restaurant, three-bedroom owner's accommodation, a kitchen and beer garden.
The property was converted from a residential dwelling to a public house some years ago.
Janine and Christine have purchased the freehold interest from Michael Vasey, who had owned the business for three years.
The sale was handled by business agents Christie + Co, with associate company Christie Finance providing the funding.
