Marks & Spencer opens its new-look store in Middlesbrough on Thursday, September 20, with a champagne reception and live music throughout the day.
Work has been ongoing at the store and while some of the new sections have already been revealed, the finishing touches are being made.
The re-design is part of M&S's strategy to modernise its entire chain, the largest store refurbishment plan under way in the UK. The re-model programme is now in its third phase and will see 70 per cent of M&S stores refurbished by the end of this year.
The 80,000 sq ft store will re-launch under Marks & Spencer's new signature style with contemporary interior design, brighter lighting, easy to navigate walkways and more spacious fitting rooms.
Increased space will lead to wider customer choice including a bigger and better per una range and the introduction of Limited Collection in womenswear, as well as improved menswear, childrenswear, lingerie, beauty and food. Homeware will continue to offer a wide selection of M&S furniture.
The food hall will see a number of changes as a result of the extensive refurbishment, including a large bakery offering a variety of freshly baked breads and pastries, and a Food to Go section providing snacks such as sandwiches, salads, refreshing juices and smoothies to take away.
Other highlights will include a bigger M&S Cafe.
Nicola Tanfield, Marks & Spencer Middlesbrough store liaison manager. said: "Our re-designed stores have proven popular with customers across the country and we are delighted to be bringing our new signature style to our store in Middlesbrough."
