A TEENAGER is driving forward her career after starting an apprenticeship at a motor dealership.
Jade Stewart, from Stokesley, North Yorkshire, has joined Jennings Kia, which is part of the Jennings Motor Group.
The 18-year-old has been appointed an apprentice service advisor, through Kia’s Academy programme, at its Stockton dealership.
Over the next two years, Miss Stewart will receive on-the-job training, while working towards industry qualifications.
She said: “I was keen to learn new skills and gain practical hands-on experience, but at the same time I wanted to achieve additional qualifications, so the apprenticeship route was perfect for me.
“Many of my friends have secured apprenticeships in a number of roles with companies and they always praise the programme, so I decided to start searching online and came across Jennings.”
In her role, the former Stokesley Comprehensive School pupil is responsible for booking in vehicles for services and MOTs, dealing with enquiries and completing paperwork.
Ian Grant, Jennings Kia’s Stockton service manager, added: “We are fully committed to training and developing staff, which includes recruiting ambitious youngsters through various apprenticeship programmes.
“Jade is already proving to be an asset to the service team.”
