THREE teenagers are building for the future after starting their careers at a timber firm.

NY Timber, in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, has welcomed Frankie Pepper, Will Maw and Josh Duncan.

Bosses say Miss Pepper, 17, a former Northallerton College student, is working as an apprentice accounts assistant, with 18-year-old Mr Maw, who studied at Thirsk School and Sixth Form College, a marketing apprentice.

They are expected to complete their apprenticeships this year.

Josh Duncan, 18, who studied at Richmond School and joined NY Timber at 16, has already completed his apprenticeship and is working in sales.

Nick Kershaw, NY Timber’s managing director said: “We look for people who are keen to be part of a company that is still growing as their energy and enthusiasm helps to take us forward.

“We have always invested in young people and take time to find the right people.

“Josh, Will and Frankie all have real parts to play in the development of the business.”

NY Timber was founded in Northallerton in 1979 and is an independent timber importer, merchant and manufacturer.

It now has a turnover of £15m, employing 130 people and has recently moved into roof trusses, panelised roofs and camping pods.
