AN engineer has received an apprenticeship award.
Alan Simmons, who works at the Nortech Group, in Wynyard, near Stockton, has been awarded the Neta project control apprentice of the year award.
Neta is one of the UK’s largest vocational training providers for engineering construction companies.
Mr Simmons is studying towards a four-year advanced apprenticeship in project control with the training provider.
The 21-year-old, from Stockton, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled.
“I’ve always had an interest in engineering, so it’s nice to be recognised for all of the work I have put in over the last year.
“I am now looking to push on with my studies and progress at Nortech by gaining further experience in project controls and the engineering sector.”
Bryan Bunn, Nortech Group’s managing director, added: “Alan’s award is fully deserved.
“He has a bright future ahead of him.”
