A VEHICLE rental company has rewarded apprentices for their successes.
Northgate Vehicle Hire, which has headquarters in Darlington, handed technical certificates to 20 young workers.
The apprentices completed level three light vehicle repair and maintenance qualifications as part of the Ford Masters Apprenticeship Programme.
The company also gave awards to two apprentices for their progress throughout the programme.
Ian Dunn, Northgate head of training, said: “We work hard to offer employees with the very best development opportunities.
“Working with the Ford Masters Apprenticeship Programme has enabled us to offer young people a unique and valuable opportunity to gain skills, qualifications and experience in the industry.”
Northgate employs about 1,800 people across the UK and about 800 in the North-East, operating depots in Stockton, North Shields and Blaydon, North Tyneside.
Last year, bosses revealed plans to open at least 20 new branches across the UK.
