JOBSEEKERS in Darlington now have a helping hand as the updated version of Darlington Borough Council’s Employment Handbook is now live.

The handbook provides plenty of key points to improve an individual’s chances of successfully securing employment.  The guide includes hints and tips and advice on how to write a CV, search for a job, interview techniques and what to expect on that first day of work.

In addition, the handbook also provides information on local organisations and programmes that can provide assistance and offer advice when looking for employment, or where to find the training to get that step closer to finding a dream job.

Councillor Chris McEwan, Darlington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration said: “The jobs market is incredibly tough and so any advice or assistance that will help local people find a job that suits their skills and abilities is to be welcomed.

“Our teams at the council work hard to ensure the tools are there to enable those looking for work are able to research the jobs market and get ready for employment. It is one more weapon in the fight against unemployment across all ages.”
