THE region's water firm has been recognised for their safety record with a gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) at the Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2012.
The award, achieved on Northumbrian Water's first year of entry, was won after the firm’s senior management team demonstrated its commitment to a safe workplace and provide evidence that all employees had access to safety and well-being advice and services. Provision includes occupational health support, employee handbooks, a health and safety committee and employee briefings.
