HUNDREDS of North-East jobs have been saved after a leading seafood supplier was bought by a rival immnediately after going into administration.
Cumbrian Seafood Limited, based in Seaham, County Durham, went into administration this morning.
Immediately the administrators confirmed the sale of the business, customer contracts and equipment to a subsidiary of Lion Capital, the owner of Young's Seafood Limited.
The firm employs 378 people at Seaham, while the two remaining sites in Whitehaven, Cumbria and Amble, Northumberland employ 117 and 79 respectively.
