DEMOLITION work has started on the old head office of North-East housebuilder, Yuill Homes.
The firm recently moved out of Cecil House on Loyalty Road in Hartlepool and into new offices on Harbour Walk, Hartlepool Marina as the old head office, which was built in the 1960s, had become unsustainable. Yuill will build a new housing development of 25 new two, three and four bedroom homes and one bungalow on the site. Next week will see the foundations of its former HQ being dug out and replaced by foundations for the new homes being planned. Yuill Homes will also be recycling materials from the demolition.
David Mullins, managing director at Yuill Homes, said: "Yuill Homes has had the heart of its business in Hartlepool since our inception and we were keen to stay within the town, with many of our staff living locally.
"Cecil House was our home for many years and now we look forward to providing high quality homes for others on the site."
