A WORLD-LEADING industrial training organisation has launched a new partnership with a County Durham security systems firm.
As a result of the tie-up between the TTE Technical Training Group in Middlesbrough and Cam-Tec Systems, based in Newton Aycliffe, a commercial apprenticeship placement has been established.
It will see 18-year-old Thomas Lazenby from Stockton, who has spent two years with not-for-profit TTE, training to become a security systems installer.
He will be carrying out a range of duties, alongside experienced personnel, such as installing CCTV systems, access control systems, automatic barriers and gates, and various other security systems.
Mr Lazenby said: "Over the past two years TTE have helped me to build up a sound understanding of the electrical and commercial engineering industry, and now, with the support of Cam-Tec Systems Ltd, I will be able to transfer those skills to the workplace."
Tim Hodgson, project manager of Cam-Tec Systems, said: "We are big believers in the benefit of sponsoring apprentices, as trainees like Thomas will be invaluable to the future of the industry."
Dave Thompson, partnership manager at TTE, added: "We are delighted to establish a new relationship with Cam-Tec Systems Ltd. "Apprenticeships are vital to the future of the economy and a great way to help individuals develop the skills they need to further their career in their chosen discipline."
