GORDON Brown has expanded its growing family law department by appointing a new head for its Childrens law team.
Jenni Wilson, who is an associate solicitor advocate, will lead the firms Public Law Childrens Unit and will be based in both its Chester-le-Street and Newcastle offices. The expanding team provides advice for parents and guardians in respect of care proceedings. The Childrens team also advises family members including advice on issues such as residence and contact following the separation of parents.
Ms Wilson worked as a barrister at the independent bar in the South West, before working as in house counsel in the family department at McKeag & Co in Newcastle. She then re-qualified as a solicitor last year so that she could join the Law Society Children Panel.
"Its a fantastic opportunity to be joining the team at Gordon Brown. I am excited about this opportunity and am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead," she said.
Gordon Brown, senior partner at the law firm said: "It is essential that we continue to invest in our ever growing team and continue to invest in well-trained enthusiastic people.
"The new appointments weve made recently, particularly at a senior level, have enhanced the firms strength-in-depth and ensure we can deliver an even better service to our clients. Jenni is trained to a very high level having been called to the bar and brings so much experience and knowledge to Gordon Brown. Its great to have her as part of the team."
