TIME is running out to have a chance of winning the prize package up for grabs as part of the Local Business Accelerators (LBA) competition.
The Northern Echo is receiving entries from emerging businesses which are hoping to secure a prize that includes free newspaper advertising, mentoring from established North-East entrepreneurs and the chance to win a six month rent-free tenancy in one of Middlesbrough Council's Enterprise Centre buildings.
One lucky winner from the competition, run across the country, will be selected to receive further support and advice from Dragons' Den star, Deborah Meaden.
Ms Meaden, the LBA national ambassador, said: "LBA is the perfect opportunity to drive your business to success. With less than two weeks before entries close I'm calling on businesses in the North-East to get involved.
"I have a simplemessage for businesses - do not miss this great opportunity. Free advertising in The Northern Echo and invaluable mentoring advice to kick start your business is not to be thrown away. If you are a business between one and three years old, with a great idea that wants to succeed, enter to be in with a chance of building a better future for both your business and the local community."
Prime Minister David Cameron, and director-general of the Confederation of British Industry John Cridland are among the names backing the scheme. Go to accelerateme.co.uk for more information on the scheme and how to enter. Entries close on Monday.
