A BEAUTY therapy student has secured a coveted position at one of the region’s most exclusive spas.
Faye Robinson, 24, from Marske, North Yorkshire, has become junior therapist at Rockliffe Hall, in Hurworth, near Darlington.
She was among a group of students who completed a three-day placement at the five-star hotel as part the Beauty Therapy course at Redcar and Cleveland College. The placements were a first for Rockliffe Hall, which was recently named as the best spa destination in the North.
Mr Robinson said: “As soon as we were told that we would be able to go on a spa placement at the start of the year, I wanted to come to Rockliffe Hall because it has such a good reputation in the industry.
“The placement was hard work, but really enjoyable and to be offered a job at the end of it is just a dream come true.”
College tutor Debbie Wilson said: “We have been steadily growing the numbers of professional placements over the last few years and we have seen a number of employment opportunities come for our students as a result. Faye’s experience at Rockliffe is a great example of how a placement can lead to a direct offer of a job.
“Faye is an inspiration for all of our students, who can see from her experience that, with application and determination, it is possible to land a prestigious job straight from college.”
