THE search is on for two experienced business figures to join the leadership board of Tees Valley Unlimited (TVU), the area’s Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
The board, which oversees TVU’s policies and activities, comprises the leaders and mayors of Tees Valley’s five borough councils, Teesside University and the business community.
But following guidance from the Government over the make-up of LEP leadership boards, and the resignation of one of the members, two vacancies need to be filled.
Applications from senior executives, particularly women from small manufacturing or engineering companies, would be particularly welcome.
Sandy Anderson, chairman of TVU and the board, said: “These vacancies present a great opportunity for two of the area’s leading business figures, who will have significant experience and expertise, to help shape the way TVU moves forward.
“It’s a really exciting time for Tees Valley as we capitalise on our LEP status, build on existing industrial strengths and develop our growing sectors.
We’re an ambitious area and I am keen the chosen candidates will share our ambition, complementing the current set up of the leadership board.”
To apply, applicants should submit a concise email or letter indicating what they can offer to the board to Stephen Catchpole, managing director of Tees Valley Unlimited, Cavendish House, Teesdale Business Park, Stockton, TS17 6QY, or email stephen.catchpole@teesvalleyunlimited.gov.uk, by midday on June 1.
