THE PASSION of its North-East workforce has persuaded global chemical company Huntsman Pigments to locate its new £2m international headquarters and research centre in the region.
Confirming the move to Wynyard Park, near Stockton, Huntsman Pigments President, Simon Turner said: "It was a landmark decision for us.
"Frankly, we did ask ourselves if we should continue here or whether we should be better advised to move somewhere else, such a closer to our customers in emerging markets. We didnt have to do this in the North-East or even the UK.
"The truth of the matter is that we find it hard to believe that we could get a better group elsewhere. The beauty about this region is that it is a place where you get passionate people. We see that in spades among our workforce who are very committed, engaged and are delivering really good results."
The firms 290 staff currently based at Wilton, near Redcar and Haverton Hill, near Billingham will move into the new offices.
"We wanted to give them the best shot at delivering even better results, so moving to a more purpose-built facility gives them a more dynamic, contemporary working environment. It made perfect sense," added Mr Turner.
