A CHEF who made his name at the Savoy Grill, in London, is aiming to have tastebuds sizzling at Rockliffe Hall Clubhouse, at Hurworth, near Darlington.
Darlington-born Mark Whiteley has joined the culinary team at the five-star hotel, golf and spa resort, which also includes Michelinstarred chef Kenny Atkinson.
Mr Whiteley trained at Darlington College.
He said: “Having spent 17 years in the industry, I have tried to keep my experience broad to get an understanding of all food types and what food lovers really want and expect.
“Rockliffe Hall is definitely the pinnacle of my career and is the exact type of establishment that I have aspired to be a part of. The new Clubhouse menu is a wonderful blend of classic home comforts with some surprising and welcoming twists.
“I’m a local lad and love the nuances on food and produce from this area. We have simply listened to our clients and have added an individual twist to the offerings.”
The revamped daytime and new evening menus are available seven days a week at the Clubhouse.
