Hartlepool United is the latest team to agree terms with Vauxhall following the car firm’s recent multimillion- pound deal to become sponsors of the England national team.
Earlier this month.
Vauxhall announced it will replace Nationwide, which ended its 11-year sponsorship of the England team.
The car maker will also become sponsor of the Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland teams.
League One Hartlepool agreed a deal with Drive Vauxhall whose logo will be emblazoned on the Pools’ orange away shirt.
Drive Vauxhall general manager Joe Palmer was thrilled with the move.
He said: “Having been involved with Hartlepool United for a number of years now, we have built up an excellent relationship with the club.
“We are already sponsoring the Hartlepool Schools Under-13 team, and felt that extending our involvement to include the town’s professional Football League club was the ideal way to underline our support and commitment to both the local community and the club.”
Hartlepool will be sporting the Drive Vauxhall logo when they run out at Peterborough United tomorrow afternoon.
“We are very pleased to take our link-up with Drive Vauxhall to the next level,”
said Hartlepool chief executive Russ Green.
“They have long been fantastic supporters of Hartlepool United and this latest development shows they are committed to supporting local football in the town. We look forward to a long and continuing relationship with them in the many seasons to come.”
