SIXTH form students pitched their business ideas to Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne yesterday.
The entrepreneur was taking part in a Young Enterprise North East project.
The project, in conjunction with BBC North East and Cumbria, saw students from four Tees Valley schools outline their business ideas.
The winning group was ThermoLucet, from the Kings Academy Sixth Form College in Middlesbrough, whose thermo-chromic iPod case impressed the judges. When heat is applied to the case, it changes colour.
Students were judged on the viability of their business plan, marketing strategy and finance plans.
Other participating schools were Middlesbrough College, with an eco board game, Prior Pursglove College, Guisborough, with a charity T-shirt idea, and Carmel RC College, Darlington, with a scheme to help people realise their dreams.
