TWO landscape firms have joined forces on a community project to provide a recreation facility for Tees Valley families.
Yarm-based Unique Landscaping Building and Maintenance and Marshalls Plc are sponsoring a boules pitch being created by Yarm Town Council.
The all-weather boules pitch, thought to be the first of its kind in the region, will be located on Snaith’s Field, in Yarm, near Stockton.
Unique Landscaping Building and Maintenance is providing the labour and manpower for the scheme, while Marshalls is supplying products.
Marshalls is the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier oflandscaping products, while Unique specialises in landscaping and horticultural services.
Work on the boules pitch got under way at the start of the month and is expected to be completed by the spring.
Martin Greenidge, from Unique, said: “As a local business, we thrive on working in the community, so being able to support such an unusual project is important to us.
“We loved the idea from the start and are looking forward to seeing local residents make good use of the pitch – hopefully during the sunny summer months.”
