RECRUITMENT consultants Zenith People have reported a 100 per cent increase in sales turnover at the end of last year.

The firm, whose core business specialises in the manufacturing, logistics and engineering sectors, was hit hard during the recession as major clients within the automotive and engineering sectors reduced staff and working hours.

After restructuring the business, Zenith People became leaner and, as the economy within the region picked up, Zenith has seen its client base return and sales improve.

Zenith People is expecting to expand this year and having recently taken on a marketing consultant. It also hopes to add further recruitment consultants to its ranks.

“2009 was a very tough year for us,” said managing director Angela Anderson. “The recession hit us hard, but we learnt some good lessons from it, as did our clients. We decided to restructure the business and look at new approaches and new markets.

“We are an approachable, specialist agency with personality and, as our clients appreciate our expertise in their areas, they know they are getting a quality service which is value for money – something which is now more important than ever.

“I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve doubled our sales turnover in 2010. We have come back bigger and better and it just goes to show there is still a huge future for small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.”

“As we step further away from recession, we expect things to get even better and, as our brand grows, we are hoping to add some new faces to our dedicated team.”

Originally formed in 2001 in Hebburn, South Tyneside, Zenith People offers permanent, contract and temporary recruitment solutions in the North-East and in other parts of the UK.
