AN award-winning film company has been reaping rewards after teaming up with a North-East university.

Superkrush Films selected graduate Cassandra Milburn to work alongside its staff as part of the university’s internship scheme.

Miss Milburn immediately put her skills to good use winning new feature film contracts for the company, which is based in Newcastle.

After only four months, the partnership arrangement has generated business worth £22,000.

Chris Taylor, who formed the business, is delighted with the impact made by Miss Milburn in her first few months and full of praise for the internship scheme.

He said: “Cassandra has really hit the ground running.

In her first few weeks with us she set about working on film slate designs, new marketing strategies and finance plans and made an immediate positive financial contribution to the company.”

The scheme is proving that graduates can make a difference to business, during turbulent economic times.

It is also helping to retain graduate talent in the region in organisations and helping to create and strengthen relationships between the university and business.
