A LETTINGS agency is poised to buy its second rival firm in as many months.

The Castledene Group has increased the number of properties on its books to nearly 1,000 after taking over lettings agency Interlet, based in Seaham, County Durham, in August.

The company, which employs 25 people and opened less than two years ago, is in the process of acquiring Better Value Lettings, of Wolsingham.

John Paul, owner of the Easington-based Castledene , said: “We are now one of the largest letting agents in the North-East, having expanded rapidly in less than two years, which is a fantastic achievement during difficult times in the property market.”

The group has recently moved into new offices in the Easington Business Centre, and is competing next month to be crowned as National Letting Agent of the Year at the Landlord and Letting Agent Awards.

The firm has received help and advice with its expansion from Business Link.

Business advisor Stephanie Campbell said: “I have been working with the Castledene Group since 2009 and have seen the business go from strength to strength.

“We will continue to work with John as he develops his ambitious plans and it is a pleasure to work with and support this entrepreneur and play a small part in the success he is achieving.”
