A NORTH-EAST firm providing training in the renewable energy sector is expanding.
Renewable Energy Academy, part of the Cleaner Air Solutions group based on the Meadowfield Industrial Estate in Durham, will open in Wrexham, North Wales, in a partnership with international electronics firm Sharp.
The factory, which opens on Monday, will provide training courses for the installation of domestic Solar PV systems, for people interested in working in the industry.
There has been an increase in the number of households looking to generate electricity by renewable means since the introduction of the UK feed-in tariff in April.
The tariff, introduced by the Government, qualifies each unit of electricity generated by renewable energy for a fixed rate payment.
